The Free Hanseatic City of Hamburg, also called the Door to the World, is one of the most beautiful port cities. With its location at the River Weser, the port, which is the biggest sea port in Germany and amongst the twenty biggest container ports in the world, the warehouse district and the fact, that the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea is based in Hamburg since 1982, you can´t deny Hamburg the so-called seaman´s flair. Furthermore, Hamburg invites every year to the well known festivals “Hamburg Port Anniversary” and “Hamburg Cruise Days”.
On this occasion sailing cruises on board the Tall Ship Eldorado take place. During the day and evening cruises, which most times start at the landing stages or the concert hall Elbphilharmonie, you can watch big cruise liners and other ships. We are sailing north along the bank of the River Elbe to Blankenese. Under full sail, you have now time to enjoy the view. Particularly interesting are container vessels loading and unloading their overseas consignment. Don´t miss visiting the city centre and a walk along the River Alster or the Elbphilharmonie afterwards.
